OUR FOUNDER AND DIRECTOR
As a young woman, Michelle Dettman was greatly impacted by the difficulties she experienced in her own unplanned, crisis pregnancy. Inspired to help others, she started and built her own Birth Mom ministry and Adoption company. Later, when faced with her own fertility issues, she encountered her own miracle with the Adoption of her second daughter. Now the proud mom of four, Michelle is passionate about her calling to help others on their Adoption Journey.
As our director, Michelle is very hands on in leading our staff. She is happily involved in communicating with our Expectant Moms, Birth Moms and Adoptive Parents as we walk them through the Adoption process. As a Certified Life Coach, Michelle believes in helping others to define and live their dreams.
Michelle enjoys speaking nationally on Adoption and motivating women to live confidently and with joy. Her favorite role is wife to David and Mom to their four children, Eric, Arielle, Devony and Garrett.

Michelle shares, ” I am in awe at the miracles I have witnessed since I began working in Adoption in 1994. God’s faithfulness has to be credited for the hundreds of Adoptive Families now home with children… as well as the lives that have been changed through our Expectant Mom/Birth Mom ministry outreach nationwide. What an incredible honor it is to serve the Lord as we walk others through their Adoption Journeys. I chose Galations 6:9 & 10 for our company verses ~And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith. “

She definitely has the capability of walking our Adoptive Families successfully through our Adoption process. We appreciate the gift of creativity that Ashlene brings to our staff. She lives in North Carolina with her handsome husband Chad and their son Kai and daughter, Chalynn.
Adoption Coordinator, Wendy Berry is much loved by everyone. Wendy has a natural way of communicating and relating with others as she has had many years of motivating and teaching high school students. Wendy keeps the best needs of everyone she works with in mind. She is passionate about Adoption and has felt a calling to work with Expectant Moms and Adoptive Families through the Adoption process. Wendy lives in Southern California with her husband Dave.
Adoption Coordinator, Sarah Bearce, is married to her best friend, hero, and soul mate, Jonathan. They were High School sweethearts and knew early on that their calling was to create their family through Adoption. They are a Military Family and God’s timing played a huge part of when they started the process. His hands were in every step of the way for each Adoption. They rested their anxiety in His hands and knew that His will would lead them. They were quickly blessed with daughter, Dylana, and soon after while Jonathan was deployed, the Lord was working His plan and our son, Ayden was born. He had to wait weeks to meet his Daddy but that reunion of their completed family was incredible. Sarah knows how important communication, understanding, and support is for all parties in Adoption!
Sarah shares, “Adoption is a huge part of our Family and I am honored to help potential families and expectant parents find each other and have support every step of the way!”
Nicole Perkins comes to us with an incredible testimony of God’s faithfulness. As a teenager, she felt a strong calling to Adopt. After falling in love and marrying her husband, Jason, together they had a peace to pursue Adoption. Their journey was one that educated her about the marketing and matching side of Adoption and ultimately led them to be matched with their son’s Birth Mother. Unbeknownst to them, their healthy newborn baby would become ill and endure a long stint in the NICU. Their faith never wavered as both Jason and Nicole took on their new role as parents without hesitancy. They partnered with their son’s NICU team to properly care Jonah back to good health. Even today they remain close with the NICU staff. Even today, they remain in contact with Jonah’s Birth Mom. Nicole feels compelled to help others through the Adoption process. She has the gift of encouragement and is dedicated to helping both Expectant Moms and Adoptive Families.
Nicole shares, “Adoption, I believe, is God’s love on earth.”

They have a beautiful daughter named McKinley who is the light of their world. Holli has always had a heart and passion for Adoption, and she shows this by speaking with anyone about her and Nick’s experience with the Adoption of their daughter. She portrays her caring and compassionate personality to everyone she comes across.
OUR GRAPHIC DESIGNER RUTH
I married my best friend and soulmate, Franklin, in 2003. Together we have three beautiful children, Erick, Hannah, and Liam. They are our world and most amazing gifts. They are our daily reminder of God’s power. Nothing is impossible for my God!
Shortly into our marriage we were told that I would not be able to have children. Our faith was tested through the next 12 years as we battled through endless tests and 7 devastating miscarriages. After many tears, infertility treatments, special care, and endless prayer God blessed us with our 3 little miracles. His love and blessings are beyond magnificent!
Adoption is a big part of my life. I was placed in the arms of my parents from birth, Adoption gave me a loving family. My mother suffered infertility and a devastating loss that lead to an emergency hysterectomy. Adoption was their next hope in growing their family. I always tell my mother, “You are the confirmation that you do not have to physically bare a child to be an amazing parent.” My mom and dad are the epitome of what amazing parents are and should be.
Since I was very young I loved art, painting, and drawing. I always knew I would grow up to do something involving art. To this day I continue to draw and paint in my free time. I have also extended my creativity into Graphic Arts and Design, which I have 8 years of experience. I absolutely love both digital and visual arts, it is a big part of who I am.
Adoption Center of Hope has given me the opportunity to use my artistic skills to create Adoption profiles for our amazing families. I have never felt so passionate about my job. There is something so special about working together with a family that has gone through so many of the same things I have gone through myself. I am blessed to work with such an amazing staff. I could not be more proud to be part of the Adoption Center of Hope team.
